It was 9:30 PM, neon lights shining in a parking lot just off the highway. Sitting in the low seat, I stared at the swarm of headlights turning at a distant intersection, picking up each and every set with eager eyes. My mouth curled upward as I sipped a cold beverage from a straw piercing the lid of a plastic cup. I snap out of my trance as a familiar exhaust note cuts through the night air and purrs in the distance. I pull my lips from the straw and lift myself slightly from the seat. My toes begin to anxiously tap out a rhythm on the floorboard, unable to wait another second.
